Ghanaian rapper, Cyril-Alex Gockel, known his stage name C-Real, is admonishing Ghanaians and all entertainment players to desist from the unhealthy comparisons that have arisen as a result of Shatta Wale’s recent success.
According to the record producer, these comparisons are not good for the music industry especially when other artistes are being ridiculed and laughed at basically because others are doing better.
Speaking about Shatta Wale’s feature with Beyoncé in the Already music video on the Lion King: The Gift Album, he stressed that Sarkodie and Stonebowy must not be included in the conversation especially when they are being mocked at.
In a tweet, C-Real said it is high time Ghanaians stopped pitching one artiste against the other since they are all striving hard in their separate ways to put Ghana on the map.
Ghanaian fans constant need to define one artistes success ridiculing & comparing to another artiste is REALLY BAD.
Shatta Wale has got a BIG BIG WIN for Ghana. Why compare to Sarkodieand Stonebwoy?
Can’t everyone be great in their own right?
After visuals emerged of Beyoncé’s feature of Shatta Wale in the Already video, Ghanaians welcomed the news with great joy and ecstasy. However, fans of Sarkodie and Shatta Wale have been locked up in a baseless comparison of who is the best and who has done the most for Ghana music in recent times.
As Sarkodie’s fans expressed doubts and troll the quality of the video and why they are convinced the lady on the screen is not the real Beyoncé, the fans of Shatta Wale are energized to prove a point that their favourite artistes is the best and certainly the ‘African Dancehall King.’
Ironically, all these artistes have congratulated Shatta Wale and perhaps called each other to toast to this great feat but their fans are on social media engaging in a brutal display of intolerance and sheer exuberance which are not endorsed their favourites.
The fuss that has been created around this piece of good news for Ghana and the career of Shatta Wale has been described C-Real as needless and unhealthy.
