Reason why Facebook, Twitter Youtube and co pulled down viral video Stella Emmanuel revealed

Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and other platforms removed a viral video in which a group of Doctors who labeled themselves as American Frontline Doctors led a Cameroonian and US-based Pediatrician Doctor Stella Immanuel who claiming to have found a cure to the deadly coronavirus.

In this video which was viewed millions of people and twitted the President of the United States Donald Trump, Stella Emmanuel claimed a combination of hydroxychloroquine, Zinc, and Zithromax is an effective cure for coronavirus.

“I have personally treated over 350 patients with Covid-19. Patients that have diabetes, patients that have high blood pressure, patients that have asthma, old people {…} I think my oldest patients are 92 {…} and the result has been the same. I put them on hydroxychloroquine, I put them on zinc, I put them on Zithromax, and they’re all well.” She said.

This video was however deleted these major platforms shortly after it went viral. According to the Policy Communications Director of Facebook, Andy Stone, the post was pulled down for policy breaches. “We removed it for sharing false information about cures and treatment for covid-19”. He stated on twitter.

Moreover, Liz Kelley, Spokeswoman for twitter also told The Washington Post that, “Tweets with the video are in violation of our covid-19 Misinformation policy” hence the decision to take it down.

The world health organization has stated clearly that, no particular cure has been found effective against the virus and warned against the spread of false information regarding the virus and its treatment.
