Following that the police had to be called to intervene to curtail the further destruction of properties and lives. Also, the police were present to ensure that innocent commuters are allowed to move irrespective of the demonstration.
Recalcitrant residents who despite the presence of the police were adamant were dealt with the security forces who issued some arrests and forcefully prevented the mob from taking over the road.
The drama continued for a while but the residents were unflinching in their desire to have their road fixed since they can not continue to see cars knocking down pedestrians on the regular.
The presence of the military and the police have been beefed up to restore calm and tranquillity to Awoshie and lots environs.
