Boma Martins Akpore, popularly known as Boma, is a Nigerian-American actor, model, and reality TV personality.

Born on Jan 23, 1987, Boma grew up in Lagos and later moved to the United States to pursue his career in the entertainment industry.

He has appeared in movies and TV shows, modeled for various fashion brands, and worked as a fitness trainer. Boma gained widespread attention in 2021 after participating in the 6th season of the Nigerian reality TV show, Big Brother Naija (BBNaija).

Early Life And Education

Boma martins Akpore, who grew up in Lagos, Nigeria, was raised as an only child. During his childhood, he was passionate about soccer and dreamed of playing professionally in the future.

After completing his primary and secondary education in Lagos, Boma Akpore enrolled at the University of Lagos to pursue his degree.

However, he was unable to complete his studies. Nevertheless, he remained optimistic and determined to succeed. He worked various side hustles to save enough money to enroll in a movie school, where he excelled and graduated with excellent grades.

Career

Boma Akpore’s career in the entertainment industry began in 2003 when he was scouted by Ola Olowu, the older brother of his childhood best friend, who worked for TBWA, a prominent advertising agency in Nigeria.

He was selected for a campaign with MTN, one of Africa’s largest telecommunication networks, which helped to launch his career.

The following year, in 2004, Boma participated in Nigerian Fashion Week, one of the country’s most prestigious fashion shows.

At the event, he made history as the youngest model to grace the runway. He quickly gained popularity and went on to model for top designers such as JD 7, Adedakare Couture, and Emmy Collins.

In 2011, Boma also pursued a career in soccer and played for the New York Irish Rovers, where he helped the team win the league cup in Long Island Football League Division in 2012.

He later traveled to Belgium to further develop his football skills, but unfortunately, his aspirations were cut short due to injuries and the inability to obtain a work permit.

In 2011, Boma Akpore’s modeling career took him to New York, where he worked as an in-store model for Ralph Lauren and was featured in the 2011/2012 New York Fashion Week.

Throughout his life, Boma has traveled extensively and has achieved success through determination and perseverance despite setbacks.

Currently, he is a housemate in the 2021 BBNaija show, competing for a prize of 90 million NGN.
