Asake began his career as a cultural dancer, drummer, and member of his high school’s musical band. He ventured into professional music in 2015 as a backup singer for popular skit-maker and entertainer, Broda Shaggi. Together, they collaborated on a project called “Star” in 2019.
However, it was not until 2022 that Asake gained recognition with the release of “Lady,” produced by Blaque Beats. The song was reposted by notable figures such as Tunde Ednut, Broda Shaggi, and Sydney Talker.
Asake’s “Mr. Money,” which was released in the same year, also garnered widespread attention, leading to a remix featuring Zlatan and Peruzzi.
He was nicknamed “Mr. Money” following the success of the song. However, it was his other tune, “Omo Ope,” that catapulted him to stardom.
During an interview, Asake revealed that Olamide became interested in him after Yhemolee played one of his songs to him.
