Security analyst and Chief Executive Officer (CEO)  of Irbard Security Consult, Alhaji  Irbard Ibrahim has stated that there some crusaders under the guise of being prophets who instead of projecting the Bible and Christ, have chosen to project themselves as superstars and rock stars, adding that God is above self-aggrandizement.

“Instead of advertising Christ and the Bible, some crusaders have turned themselves and their wives into superstars and rock stars. God is above self-aggrandizement!” He wrote in a post sighted MyGh.com.

It is not exactly clear why the security analyst uttered
these words but recent happenings where some prophets have been at each other’s
throat over whose prophecies about the upcoming 2020 elections are true or
otherwise may have triggered the comment.

Prophets and pastors have come under some criticism for
appearing to put the spotlight on themselves instead of on Jesus Christ and the
Bible as Christianity dictates.

Mr Ibrahim, a Muslim, who regularly advocates for religious
tolerance has been an ambassador for peace especially before, during and after
elections.

Meanwhile, Former Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church,
Ghana, Most Rev. Prof Emmanuel Asante has chided Ghanaian prophets who have
made the prediction of doom for the country and high profile personalities as
their stock in trade for confusing the masses and creating unnecessary panic in
the system.

The Chairman of the National Peace Council says such
prophecies only goes to cause fear and alarm in “gullible people” who tend to
believe whatever they hear.

“Everybody would die one way or the other and nobody, including the prophets themselves can tell when and how anybody would depart this earth; so if you make blanket general statement that a popular footballer is going to die, you haven’t said anything”, he said on Kumasi-based Angel FM in an interview monitored MyGh.com on Monday.

The renowned theologian would rather have the prophets speak about things that inspire hope and bring about development.

“The
predictions of the outcome of elections do not bring us anything us a country
than only selling ourselves to confused politics and antagonistic politics; I
would plead with my brothers to rather to choose to pray to counter negative
prophecies than going to town to broadcast them”, he said.
